Singapore Port - Dawn Logistics Centre - Sentosa Cove (Land)
Sentosa Cove - Singapore Port - Oakland, USA (Sea)

2 x 40' Shipper's Own Containers (SOCs) + Yacht Spare Parts

The Challenge
1. Our UK freight partner, PSP Logistics, is one of the leading freight forwarders & international boat transporters in the United Kingdom (UK). They have appointed us as their exclusive Singapore partner to handle the event logistics of the Clipper Round The World Race (www.clipperroundtheworld.com), of which they are a team sponsor as well as the overall event logistics provider.

2. Dawn Shipping Group (DSG) is responsible to handle the event logistics for the Singapore leg, including but not limited to:-
  • SIN clearance & handling of 2 x 40' SOC using ATA Carnet
  • SIN clearance & handling of various LCL/air-freight shipments of yacht spare parts on temp. import-export basis
  • Storage of imported cargo at Dawn Logistics Centre, followed by deployment to event site when required
  • Logistics coordination between Sentosa Cove Community Management, ONE˚15 Marina and Clipper Race Organizing Committee
  • All ad-hoc logistics requirements by individuals involved in the race (e.g. shipment of marketing materials/personal effects to and fro Singapore)

Our Solution
DSG's Supply Chain Management (SCM) team served as a coordinator between the different stakeholders involved in this event. Several site reeces and project meetings were conducted to locate a suitable site in Sentosa Cove to unload the containers safely and with minimal impact to the beautiful surroundings of this exclusive residential enclave.

Detailed risk assessment (RA) was submitted to the Commuity Manager for the unloading operations. In addition, our mobile crane team perfomed technical calculations for the unloading works to ensure the containers could be unloaded safely and avoid any damage to the site infrastructure (e.g. lamp posts, ground tiles etc.). On D-day, our operations head (Ng Kah Yong) was present at the site round-the-clock to oversee the operations, which allowed us to react to sudden developments which require quick decisions to ensure zero delays.
